The meaning of the word Logos is 'the word, thought, meaning'. Logos is the space of meaningful communication and verbal creativity. It is the space of thought, poetry and the medium of literature. And yet, logos does not carry only the poetry and thought; it is also the spring of meaning and structure which enable the birth of genuine music, paining or sculpture. And finally, Logos can also be used to denote Everything that radically transcends every human word and thought: the Absolute Meaning. Logos is the name of the Absolute that has essentially determined the European tradition: from Heraclitus of Ephesus to John the Evangelist, from the Word-Event of Hebrew prophets to the soul-born mystical Word and to the Concept of German idealists. Logos is the Word which does not exclude the final Silence..

The founders of the Cultural and Arts Society Logos (KUD Logos) are Christians of various creeds (Evangelical, Orthodox, Catholic) who wish to create and communicate beyond any institution and particular denomination in a completely control-free space open for different spiritual traditions and intellectual search for contemporaneity. The purpose of the Society is not to eclectically fuse different traditions but to enable a creative co-existence of different spiritual, ethical, intellectual and confessional identities, and to promote a dialogue between them. KUD Logos is therefore the society of friends of the broadly understood logos: of friends of real poetry and mysticism, of meaningful philosophy and music, visual arts and theology: it is the society of those who seek and those who are convinced that they have already found the decisive word of their life and wish to take active part in the creation of the culture of meaning – the culture which springs from different spiritual wells.
